On the same level as being a professional chocolate or a theme park ride tester, RSPCA are advertising a new job opportunity that seems simply too good to be true.

How would you like to be a cat cuddler or rabbit socialiser?!

Yes the newly-opened Manchester and Salford branch have posted a load of volunteer opportunities and some of them involve looking after the flurry creatures. All in a day's work, eh?

The branch has taken in 31 cats and kittens, 49 rabbits, five mice and one hamster since it opened to weeks ago, and naturally they need help looking after all of the new inhabitants.

Posting the volunteer roles on Facebook, the centre promised that "tea, biscuits and lots of cuddles await!"

Perhaps the most in-demand roles (and the ones we have out eye on) are surely the Volunteer Rabbit Socialiser and Cat Cuddler roles.

Of the bunny one, RSPCA Manchester and Salford say: "Bunnies love company and many enjoy a good cheek rub or use you as a fun climbing frame delivering treats." We're sure we can assist.

For the cat role, the advert reads: "Sit and fuss feelines whilst they wait for their new homes," but adds this one is likely to be most popular - so act fast!

Other roles include the Volunteer Rabbit/Small Animal and Cat Care Assistants job which involves cleaning and feeding the cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small furries.

There's also Volunteer Weekend Reception Staff Meet who meet and greet potential adopters.

The jobs the centre are most desperate for help with is the Volunteer Cat/Dog Home Visitors, who attend home visits for potential adopters to give advice and help re-home the animals. So get in touch if you think this looks like you!

All volunteers will receive full training.

To apply, simply contact the centre by calling 0161 737 6600 or email [email protected]. You'll then need to fill out an application for and complete some online training.

The roles are only available in the Salford branch, but you can keep an eye on the RSPCA's volunteer page to check out the opportunities in your area.
