Mothers have long had to spend nights attempting to wash permanent marker off walls or lift acrylic paint from the kitchen floor following a day with enthusiastic children.
Yet, one mother has revealed how she had successfully got black biro out of her grey suede couch with window cleaner and a cloth.
Bonnie Marie Csongei took to Facebook group, 'Mums Who Clean', to ask for her fellow mums help on how to take out the pesky stain after her son ran riot with a pen on the family's sofa and the usual baby wipes didn't work.

Receiving a flood of suggestions, including vinegar and hairspray, Bonnie shared the results of using Windex and a microfibre cloth had on making her couch look brand new.
She penned alongside her before and after shots: "Thanks everyone for the tips!! I tried pretty much all of the suggestions but the one that worked a treat in the end was Windex and a micro fibre cloth!
"What a weird comb. But it's come just like new yippeeeeee!!! Side note: apparently selling [a] child on Etsy actually IS illegal, not just frowned upon."

Speaking to PRETTY 52 about the cleaning hack, Bonnie said she was at her wits end trying to get the biro out of the couch but with the help of the Facebook group she was able to restore it to its original state.
"My 3-year-old had been playing 'knights' with a pen of mine," she told us. "It took a whole 60 seconds to turn my suede couch into this masterpiece which you can bet will make an appearance at his 21st."

Adding: "Various suggestions like vinegar, hair spray, but the strangest one was Windex. Official Windex too, not homebrand window cleaner.
"It was my last resort and it took five or six sprays and then a dry microfibre cloth and the couch came up as good as new. In fact, it's a heck of a lot cleaner than it has been for the last 6 years."
It has long been said that using a dampened white cloth with rubbing alcohol or a dry-cleaning solvent would help lift an ink stain by blotting the affected area - but now you can add window cleaner to that list.
