The UK'S first bus route for dogs is being unleashed in September and is set to bring pets and their owners on totally pawsome adventures around Kent.

Answering dog owners' prayers, Go Coach announced that canine companions will be given their own free tickets, doggy treats and litter bags on routes by the bus company.

The routes will cover dog friendly castles, country parks and gardens when the two year 'Follow My Lead' campaign is launched in Kent.

Speaking about the initiative, Go Coach boss Austin Blackburn said he wants to encourage more dog owners to explore the Garden of England and travel further afield with their pooches.

He shared: "Dogs chill people out, make people happy and get strangers talking. Having a bus route for them is just common sense."

Bus boss Austin, who has three canine companions including a chihuahua named Geoff, believes not all pet owners know they can take dogs on the bus for free and wants more owners and their pets to avail of the service.

"The route will pass through amazing countryside and attractions - all perfect places for dog walks that beat boring walks around the block," he added.

Austin explained that he used to take his beagle Primrose for trips on the bus, which he and his adoring pooch loved, and admitted that he wouldn't have interacted with other passengers if it wasn't for inquisitive Primrose.

The coach chief hopes the doggie tickets will inspire fellow dog owners to bring their mutts all across the county to experience many of the dog-friendly amenities.

Go Coach's services will run around Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge - starting in September so get your tickets at the ready.

Hopefully the campaign will have other travel companies thinking, 'oh my pugness' and thinking of their own dog-friendly transport initiatives.
