A thrifty grandmother has made a set of four Harry Potter-themed dining chairs for her family - and the entire thing cost her just £10.

Psst...We have exciting news to share about the future of Pretty 52

Linda Mills Hudson, 59, made the professional-looking dining set in just four hours and with zero prior upholstering experience (and just a small bit of help from a friend).

The grandmother, a support worker from Rotherham, crafted the chairs using just tote bags from Poundland, a roll of Potter-themed cloth and 99p dining chairs that she scoured from eBay.

To make them, Linda first painted the chairs with dark chalk paint that she already had left over.

After, Linda reupholstered the backs with the tote bags she found in Poundland baring the crest of all four houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin.

She then upholstered the beast using some Harry Potter cloth costing £5 per meter she found in Rotherham market.

Linda told The Sun: "Usually what I do is pug-related furniture for local pug charities so Harry Potter was a bit of a departure from the norm.

"[My upholstery knowledge] is largely self-taught and my friend Jenny helped me as well.

"It's not difficult but you do need to be patient - especially getting the old covering off."

Linda made the chairs for her daughter Claire, 38, her husband and three kids who are all huge fans of the wizarding franchise.

The thoughtful gifts have been moved to Claire's dining room where they are used daily by the family.

Linda's DIY chairs were first shared on Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK where her savvy idea racked up thousands of likes.

We might just be copying these...
