Bring Your Dog To Work Day Next Week Is For A Very Good Cause
Leaving your dog at home as you leave for the office, eyes looking up at you all sad and downbeat, has to be one of the hardest parts of a pet owner's day.
Well imagine for one day you could actually take your pooch with you? Imagine the tail wags you'd get with that!
The day, which raises money for animal charities, has taken place each year since 2014, and for 2019 it falls on Friday, 21st June.
Has there ever been a more perfect excuse to bring your dog to work? It's for charity - duh!
Obviously not all bosses will be willing to participate in the day, so it's probably a good idea that you ask before bringing your furry friend in.
And if you do, just make sure they're toilet trained... you don't want them ruining the carpet and embarrassing you in front of your boss, do you?
The day is intended to raise money for All Dogs Matter and Animals Asia, but if there's another dog charity close to your heart, you're free to donate to that too.
To participate all you have to do it bring your dog to work (obvs) and donate £10 and upload a picture of your pet to the 'Dog With A Job Hall Of Fame'.
If you do this, you'll be automatically entered into a prize draw to win hundreds of pounds of goodies for you and your dog.
As well as raising money for charity, Bring Your Dog to Work Day could be beneficial to you too. Did you know that pets can reduce stress levels in a workplace?
The event organisers say: "Increased job satisfaction, team co-operation and morale have all been reported in employees that spend the workday with their pets. Since 2014, the year we established Bring Your Dog To Work Day, we have witnessed a growing number of businesses across the UK that allow dogs in the workplace."
They add: "So in addition to raising funds, Bring Your Dog To Work Day is likely to boost the productivity and happiness of the employees within your company. And it means hundreds if not thousands of pets around the UK can now go to work alongside their humans!"
