Job interviews are hard enough with all the performance pressure, first impression anxiety and overwhelming fear of rejection, let alone having to worry about an outfit on top of all of that.
Well, one woman has clearly had enough of looking formal for job interviews and has even gone as far as to dub dressing up for the event as a 'scam'.
The woman, who goes by the handle Crocodile Camm, has since taken to TikTok to share exactly why she disagrees with people donning their Sunday best for particular job interviews.
She began the video by declaring: "I think it's such a f***ing scam that if you want to get a serving job, a retail job, whatever kind of job, you have to dress up for your interview as if you're going to work in an office and then you're never going to wear those clothes again to the job."

The woman then asked the rhetorical question: "Why can't I wear black pants, non-slip shoes and a black T-shirt?"
"It just feels like a scam," she concluded.
The short clip has since clocked up over 56.3k views on the platform with more than six thousand likes and dozens of comments from people eager to weigh in on the woman's bold claims.
Many agreed with the woman, with one TikTok user writing: "It’s funny because I work in an office and we don't even dress like that."

A second claimed: "Same for the hospital world. They’ll never see us in business again… just SCRUBS."
"Fr why do we have to dress up at all for interviews," hit out a third, "if they want honesty don’t they want whole-hearted honesty?"
A fourth added: "Wow you're so right."
Others, however, clearly weren't as fussed.

"I kind of enjoy it LOL it’s fun to pop off every once in awhile," admitted one TikTok user.
A second stated: "It's called impressing the interviewer. If your skills, education, and effort are similar to another. That first impression being dressed up wins."
"I dressed in business casual for a job interview to work in a factory," penned a third. "You dress for success and to impress, not to just shlep in whatever."

A fourth, striking a happy medium behind ultra dressy and über casual, explained: "I wear a slightly dressed-up version of what I plan to wear to work. No business casual here."
"Its metaphorical isn't it," commented a final TikTok user. "You show up looking and feeling your best."
