These Incredible Poundland Home Makeovers Could Save You A Fortune

Nobody needs to be told that decorating a home can cost a small fortune: from tiling the floors to perfectly decking out your walls and windowsills, sometimes it can feel like you'll never have the budget to create that picture perfect home you saw on Pinterest.

But fear not, because a team of savvy shoppers have now proved just how easy it is to kit your home out on a budget - and not just a budget... a Poundland budget. It literally couldn't get any cheaper!

Showing off their handy-work on Facebook group Poundland Appreciation Society (a page we can absolutely get behind), a team of DIY and home décor enthusiasts have proved that you absolutely don't need to splurge to spruce up your home.

They've shared everything from repurposed shelving units to hand tiled bathrooms - and with many of the products they used available across the Poundland website and stores, you can easily replicate their handiwork yourself.

One woman named Carla showed the amazing affect a few Poundland accessories can have when she uploaded a snap of her living room wall.

Slotted on rustic wooden shelves that surrounded her TV, Carla had placed patterned plant pots, tea light holders, kids books, photo frames and coasters.

She also bought four circular mirrors and arranged them in a vertical line on one wall - something so easy to copy at home if you have some blank space to fill.

Another Facebook user also nailed her feature wall by scattering cheap photo frames and mirrors behind an armchair, even cleverly placing a black metal basket on its side so it turned into a make shift shelf. So cute!

Poundland isn't just great for home accessories, as some took it a step further and fully retiled their floor with Poundland's sleek self-adhesive 'wood-style' panels.

While others managed to completely convert their kitchen walls with the store's stick on mosaic tiling, others used the same product to revamp their bathrooms and even opted for a metallic version to glitz up their fireplaces.

Speaking about her DIY fireplace décor, Poundland Appreciation group member Debbie McCann explained how she got the jazzy look she wanted with the super-cheap 'clever tiles' and some Poundland paint.

She told Pretty 52: "I bought the clever tiles having no idea what I was going to do with them but when I got home sat in front of my fire it came to me.

"I just got the matte black paint and painted over the dark wood fire surround. I started in the centre and worked out either side to try get a neat finish - this dries fairly quickly.

"Putting [the tiles] on at first was tricky as they are very sticky and some did rip when I was placing them, so I would recommend buying a spare pack just in case, but I got there in the end. The only tools I needed was a sharp pair of scissors and a craft knife!"

Poundland fanatics also used the home products for smaller DIY experiments, including one group user who used their chalk paint and sandpaper to give their shelving unit a delightful shabby chic finish, and another who spray painted the legs of their brand new pouffe. Genius!

Interior designer Vanessa Arbuthnott agrees that there you don't need bucket loads of cash to decorate your home. Speaking to Pretty 52, she advised how to best utilise low price decor and accessories.

"Cheap frames mirrored shelves and plant pots can look pricier if used effectively," she said. "Don't clump them altogether but instead spread them around the room in areas which carry a lot of colour.

"For walls keep the tiles plain, not mottled nor textured and white is always a success. With cheap floor tiles again try to avoid patterned tiles, opt for tiles in a plain colour with a matt finish if ceramic. Geometric patterned vinyl tiles can be very cheap and if put down well, look great."

From a whole room redesign to a quick polish, there really is no need to be out of pocket.
