No more hair of the dog!

There's a lot of apparent miracle hangover cures out there. Some people swear by a pint of water before bed, others will go for old school hair of the dog, and some just grin and bear it.

However, this Wine Wand from Amazon claims that it will do the trick in helping with that morning after.

The Wand Wine Filter by PureWine claims to alleviate the most common side effects from heavy drinking including headaches, congestion, flushed skin and upset stomachs.

PureWine claims to do this through the removal of histamines and sulphites, purifying and aerating the wine in just three minutes. They also say that they are the only wine filter to remove both of these.

The Wand apparently works on all red, white and sparkling wines and doesn't change the taste, aroma or colour of the drink.

All you have to do is pop the wand in your glass and then you can slurp up and dispose of the wand afterwards.

What's more, the Wand also has Patented Phoenix technology that they say returns open and oxidised wine to its natural state which means no more throwing away old bottles of opened wine!

However, people are split on how well the Wand works. While sulphites aren't the main culprit of a wine hangover, those with allergies could benefit from the histamine reduction.

One reviewer said: "I have ordered these wine wands many times now and they are normally wonderful and prevent the normal sneezing, stuffy nose, and poor sleep I get from wine.

"However, the last two 24 packs I've purchased from here were tampered with and didn't work at all. I think they actually made it worse."

Another person said: "If this did anything at all, I was not aware of it. I still turned pink and splotchy and got stuffy."

The majority of the reviews gave the product five stars though with one person saying: "These actually work, I get sniffles and then full blown melt down with most alcohol. Have done for 20 years. As long as you leave in and stir for several minutes it works."

Someone else said: "I started getting bad digestive issues when I drank red wine. I realised after doing an elimination diet that I had a histamine intolerance. I bought some of these and they work really well."

So, bottoms up! Let's hope we're not all feeling too fragile in the morning.
