Mum Shares Shower Cap Solution To Stop Pram Dirtying Her Carpets

It's a crafty tip for parents!

One mum has been praised for her creative way of stopping mud getting into her home and it's, quite frankly, innovative.

Mum Laura Outhart found a simple way of keeping the mud from her pram wheels off her clean carpet and shared it with others to help them out.

In order to keep her carpets clean, Laura simply added some cheap shower caps to the wheels of her pram, which "catch" the mud from the wheels when it dries and flakes off, and others have been lapping it up.

Laura initially posted the tip to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, saying: "£1 shower caps bought from Poundland. Ideal for popping over your muddy wheels to catch the mud when it dries and flakes off.

"Saves your carpets and floors getting dirty," she added. "You can actually buy wheel covers for this purpose but this is definitely a money saving idea and works so well and you can keep reusing over and over again."

Laura told Tyla: "I hope this hack helps other parents out there who suffer with muddy wheels."

Great advice, Laura!

The crafty mum also suggested using food bowl covers for prams with smaller wheels (

And that's not the only top tip the crafty mum had to share.

If your pram's wheels are smaller than this, then Laura suggests using food bowl covers as an alternative to shower caps.

"They also work perfect for the buggies with double wheels at the front," she added.

Laura bought her food covers for just under £2 for seven from Amazon last year, she says, in another money saving tip for parents not wanting to get mud inside the house.

And fellow parents seem to love the creative hack she posted to Facebook.

"Love it, what a brilliant idea!" said one, while another called the tip "genius".

"Now this is a fab idea," enthused a third, while a fourth parent asked: "Why have I never heard of this?"

We love this simple hack!
