Woman Left With 'Angry Birds' Eyebrow After A Disastrous Trip To The Salon

Whether it's a painful wax or a three-inches-to-short 'trim', we've all had our fair share of disasters on our quest for beauty perfection.

Have you ever come out of the salon looking like one of the characters from Angry Birds though? No, neither have we.

Unfortunately Colline Rees wasn't quite so lucky following her appointment at 'Get Nailed' in her home town of Llanelli, South Wales after the 37-year-old was left with botched brows right before a family holiday to Tenerife.

"We had been really looking forward to it [our holiday] because we always just go on holiday in Wales," Colline explained. "We were so excited to be able to fly somewhere new."

However when her regular eyebrow waxer was unavailable, the carer put her brows in the hands of a young trainee, and the results were disastrous.

After the treatment, the trainee explained she needed to put some pencil in Colline's eyebrows but when she sat up, she realized to her horror that most of her left eyebrow was missing.

"I was mortified, absolutely horrified," said Colline. "I said to the girl: 'Are you kidding me, is this a joke?' I was in hysteria, crying 'Is anyone going to fix this?'"

They say lightening doesn't strike twice, but when another beautician offered to step in and fix the mess by adding a bit of tint, Colline looked up to see what she said looked like two thick black slugs drawn above her eyebrows.

Understandably bursting into tears before storming out of the salon, the mum-of-three FaceTimed her sister Paula, who was equally as horrified.

To make matters worse, because her eyebrows had been waxed, the fix-up job applied the die straight to her skin meaning it wouldn't budge whatever Colline tried.

Following a desperate Facebook post begging for help - "I'm known for being happy-go-lucky and always joking doing pranks, but I didn't know what else to do" - a make-up artist friend came to the rescue, showing her how to draw round the dye to make the shape more flattering.

"I didn't know whether to laugh or cry," explained the distraught mother who said she was left too embarrassed to post in family holiday snaps.

"All my close friends and family were saying I look like something out of the Angry Birds game."

If Get Nailed's reviews on Yelp are anything to go by, Colline isn't the first to leave the salon feeling less than five-star, with one unhappy customer rating it 'awful', saying: "Would give it 0 stars if I had to. Awful. Had acrylics and I will never be going back again. Looked like they'd been on for 6 weeks."

"The worst pedicure I have ever had!!! I probably should have complained and refused to pay but I just wanted out of this awful place...will NEVER, ever visit this place again...on reflection, I doubt any of the girls were trained leave along have any qualifications!!!" said another.
