If you've always fancied yourself a bit of a travel influencer but haven't quite managed to rack up the followers, how about you let your dog have a go?

Hotels.com is on the lookout for a wanderlusting pup to em-bark (see what we did there?) on a dream quest reviewing canine hotels - and you're invited to go along.

The lucky canine critic will get to try out ten of the world's most dog-friendly hotels, offering their four-legged insights on walks, bedding, pampering services and food, the pair will then need to post their review on the leading accommodation website.

Pup influencer Dolly Pawton - who boasts almost 150k Instagram followers - has even put out a recruitment video in which she reviews The Curtain Hotel in London, showing her fellow four-legged friends how it's done, lounging around in miniature dressing gowns, enjoying gourmet meals and chilling out by the pool.

Living the doggie dream.

To commemorate the occasion and in response to a 62 per cent increase in pet-friendly hotel reviews over the past two years, Hotels.com has also launched a 'Best for Pets' category in its annual awards so now you can figure out exactly where to stay if you want to holiday with your pet.

"We love our pets more than we love our other half at times, so it's no surprise that we've seen a huge increase in travellers wanting to take their furry plus one on holiday with them," says Liz Oakman, senior director and general manager EMEA from Hotels.com.

"At Hotels.com, we want to make sure you find the paw-fect place to check into, so we're excited to add a Best for Pets category to our Loved by Guests awards - but it doesn't stop there."

"Our hunt for Canine Critic is our way of ensuring our pet friendly hotels really are up to 'scratch' with a four-legged expert's 'paw of approval'," she added.

Pampered pooches (and their humans) can apply for the role through Hotels.com's Instagram page by following them and posting a cute or funny picture of themselves, tagging @hotelsdotcom and using #CanineCritic.

Entries must be submitted by 11.59pm UK (GMT) time on Sunday August 25th so don't waste any more time!
