If you offered us the chance to quit our jobs and work with animals all day every day, we'd seriously consider it.

But the chance to work with rhinos? We're packing up our desk right now, because Chester Zoo is hiring a rhino keeper and it sounds like the dream job we never knew we wanted.

The conservation and education charity and attraction are hiring for a keeper to join their hoofstock section for 18 months as part of a maternity cover.

The vacancies section of Chester Zoo's website says the job will pay a very specific £21,356.63 a year, and gets loads of cool benefits including 33 days of paid holiday, free admittance tickets to the zoo and a discounted gym membership.

The job posting says: "For the right candidate, this post offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a wide variety of mammal species ranging from Black and Greater one horned rhinos as well as Grevy's zebra and a range of Bovid's and Deer and Antelope and across the Hoofstock section.

"Chester Zoo aims to set a benchmark for animal welfare and the successful candidate must be able to deliver an excellent level of animal husbandry, care and welfare for the assigned mammals; ensuring that all enclosures and facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards."

However, you need quite specific qualifications to apply, such as a degree level qualification in a zoological related science and proven experience in the care and management of a variety of large hoofstock species in a zoo or safari park setting.

There are also other positions to consider, including being a seasonal browse worker for three months, or being part of the hoofstock team as an assistant team manager.
