Cats are furry creatures we don't deserve (and they definitely know it btw) - and so it's only right that we honour our feline friends with an entire festival dedicated to them of course.
The LondonCats Cat Extravaganza is returning for its second year to delight animal lovers with a three-day festival in Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey from 10th to 12th January.
The international cat event has moved to a bigger and better space to cope with demand this time around, where festival goers can for the first time ever have the chance to meet the cats.
Amongst the various breeds at LondonCats Cat Extravaganza, feline fans can expect to see the Bengal, British Short Hair, Maine Coon and Sphynx.
There will also be some newer breeds like the Lykoi (werewolf cat), American Curl and Toyger, who will be competing for the ultimate prize of Best Kitten, Best Cat, Best Alter and Best Household Pet.
Visitors will have plenty of opportunities to pet and cuddle these furry friends and will be able to learn more about the kitties by observing one of the eight judging rings.
There's also the opportunity to meet Instagram celebrity cats such as Starina, who will be waiting for cuddles on the Katzenworld stall.
For those who want to give something back to their beloved moggies, there will be plenty of ways to spoil them with treats and gifts from a shopping village.
The event is associated with TICA (The International Cat Association), which sanctions hundreds of cat shows annually across the globe and in 104 countries.
TICA currently recognises 71 breeds of cats and is the largest registry of pedigree and household pet cats in the world - so there you have it.
The show will be open to the public from 4pm to 9pm on the Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday & Sunday.
Tickets, which are valid for the whole weekend, are available on the door or online, from the LondonCats website. Online prices are £18 for adults, £10 for concessions, and under 12s go free.
Now that sounds like the purrfect way to kick the January blues.
