It's back to school time for thousands of children across the UK, including Princess Charlotte who arrived for her first day at school this morning.

The four-year-old royal arrived at Thomas's Battersea, London, today with her parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and her brother Prince George, aged 6.
Princess Charlotte looked smart in her navy uniform, which bared the emblem of the £6,305-a-term private school in London in red, and wore her hair in a ponytail.
The adorable royal happily walked to the school's entrance holding her mother's hand, before the family of four met with Helen Haslem, head of the lower school, who shook little Charlotte's hand.

Prince William reportedly told her his daughter was "very excited" about big school. Too sweet.
The fourth in line to the throne follows her older brother George who has been attending the school since 2017. Since last January, the princess has been a pupil at Willcocks Nursery in Kensington.
It will no doubt be exciting for her fellow students to have a princess in the class, but the royal will be known to staff and school friends as Charlotte Cambridge.

Charlotte will be starting her school tenure learning subjects such as art, ballet, drama, ICT, French, music and PE which are are all taught by specialist teachers from their first day.
No doubt Charlotte's big brother will be on hand to look out for her - too cute!
George, the third in line to the throne, is said to have settled in well to the London-based private where he is known to classmates by the nickname 'PG'.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, royal biographer Penny Junor said George is a "protective older brother" to Charlotte.
"I'm sure he'll look after his little sister and take great pride in showing her the ropes," she added.
