Celebrity Big Brother’s Ekin-Su pulls out of TV interview last minute after being axed from the show

The ex-Love Island star caused a stir during her time on the show

UPDATE 19 MARCH - A Lorraine spokesperson has since clarified that 'Ekin-Su did not pull out of the show or throw the programme into chaos this morning'. You can read the full story here.

Celebrity Big Brother viewers were forced to endure an 'excruciatingly awkward' interview with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu following her eviction from the infamous house last week.

And now, the former Love Island winner has cancelled an interview with presenter Lorraine Kelly at seemingly just moments' notice.

Ekin-Su's time on the long-standing reality series was cut short in a shock eviction, which later saw her appear on follow-up show Late and Live.

Earlier in the show, she was seen breaking down in hysterics after musical theatre star Marisha Wallace picked her in the face-to-face nominations.

She then stormed off to her bed as the Marisha followed to apologise.

After her eviction and during her catch-up with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, the ex-islander not only branded her former co-star 'fake' for voting for her, but she also made some bombshell allegations about producers 'fixing' the show to present her in a certain light.

Despite only having been removed from the Big Brother house moments earlier and not having had the chance to watch the series back, the 29-year-old said: "You haven’t seen everything, they’ve cut stuff out.

"I’m just hurt that I wasn’t portrayed as myself on the show."

Thankfully, presenter AJ was quick to refuse Ekin-Su's claims, reminding her that she hadn't watched a single episode.

"It's interesting because you've literally just walked out of the house!" she hit back.

"You don't know what's been seen, what's been said. But I can assure you that everything that has been seen and has been said, has been said by you!"

And viewers couldn't help but comment on the tension in the room during last week's episode.

"Ooof Ekin-Su is well tamping and going off blaming the edit already on her being out. Talk about awkward," one penned on social media.

Another wrote: "Almost done catching up with cbb, Ekin-Su is just bizzare?? The way she responds and acts in conversations is actually painful to watch, like Fern said…disturbing."

Ekin-Su's post-eviction interview left viewers squirming in their seats.

And earlier this morning (18 March), Ekin-Su was scheduled to appear on Lorraine to discuss her time on CBB - a norm for newly-evicted housemates.

Ahead of the interview, Scottish presenter Lorraine told Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls that she was looking forward to the chat.

Soon after, however, she was forced to break the news that Ekin-Su had cancelled the interview last minute, adding that producers were trying to get to the bottom of her absence.

"She was due to come in but no," 64-year-old Lorraine said. "We're trying to find out. She was not happy, sometimes you think it's put on but she was genuinely not pleased at all."

Susanna subsequently made a tongue-in-cheek jibe aimed at the former dating show winner - who won Love Island back in 2022 alongside now-ex-boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti.

Lorraine broke the news that her interview with Ekin-Su had been cancelled.

"This is why I like live TV because then you know what's actually happened," Susanna said. "And there's no blaming the edits."

Lorraine then joined in: "Yes live is a lot better."

Tyla has contacted Ekin-Su's representatives for comment.
