Celebrity Big Brother star reveals they were seen by paramedics just one hour before live opening show

The series kicked off last night with a bang

This year's eagerly-anticipated Celebrity Big Brother series kicked off last night and it's already the talk of the town.

From shock celeb blunders to ITV viewers' pure disbelief after discovering Corrie star Colson Smith's real age - it's clear this year's antics under the all-seeing eye will be just as juicy, hilarious and downright chaotic as any other year.

Setting the tone for the rest of the series, there was already a load of backstage drama after a Celebrity Big Brother star revealed they were seen by paramedics just one hour before the live opening show. Have a look:

The star in question was none other than CBB host, Will Best, who took to Instagram last night to share with his 45.2k followers an update on his health whilst being seen to by paramedic staff.

Taking to his story, the 39-year-old presenter began: "So guys, this is nearly it.

"We are basically one hour away from going live on Celebrity Big Brother 2024."

Will went on to assure fans that he had 'just been given a clean bill of health by a paramedic' before thanking them 'very much'.

He continued: "And... it's a long story but I've got like, yeah, we've got to do stuff any minute.

"I'm supposed to be finished in the makeup chair in about 15 minutes but I haven't got my face on yet!"

The host then joked: "We're running late guys, maybe tune in at 9:15pm!

"Don't, it will be live at nine!"

Tyla has reached out to ITV for comment.

And, just like Will promised, it was with the show making its long-awaited return to screens over over half a decade.

Viewers watched 12 stars move into the infamous BB house with the first being Sharon Osbourne who will be a 'celebrity lodger' rather than an official housemate.

Other stars included; fellow former X Factor judge Louis Walsh, Strictly Come Dancing's Nikita Kuzmin, Reggae Reggae Sauce legend Levi Roots, Love Island 2022 winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, reality TV personality David Potts, Netflix star Bradley Riches, TV presenter ZeZe Mills, Broadway star Marisha Wallace, Coronation Street's Colson Smith and Real Housewives of Cheshire favourite Lauren Simon.

And, this season, a major change is coming to the BB house with AJ and Will taking to X last week (27 February), to reveal a shock statement about the programme.

Will assured fans he was given a 'clean bill of health' by a paramedic before he returned to his hosting duties.

AJ began by announcing: "Celebrity Big Brother is just around the corner so we are coming at you with big news."

Will continued: "Now you'll remember, the last series of Big Brother you were voting to evict. This time, for Celeb BB, you're voting for your favourite housemate.

"You're always voting to save!"

AJ added: "I don't know how it's going to change the dynamics within the Big Brother house or how fans are going to rally behind their favourite celebrity. But I for one cannot wait to find out."

Celebrity Big Brother will be airing on ITV1 and ITVX tonight at 9.00pm.
