Celebrity Big Brother’s Gary Goldsmith has broken his silence on Kate Middleton, admitting she’s ‘difficult to get hold of’.

After he entered the Big Brother house last night, it didn't take long for conversation to turn to his royal ties - with many viewers left questioning who he even was.

In tonight's episode, we see Gary talking with Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne in the kitchen.

“Is it difficult for you, being related to famous people?” Louis asks him.

Gary then replies: “I didn’t vote for it, it happened to me, and then suddenly there’s a spotlight on you.”

Gary, 58, is the uncle of the Princess of Wales, being the brother of her mum Carole.

He adds: “They call me the buncle! Have you heard of a buncle? Bad uncle, apparently every family has them.”

Kate has recently been in headlines amid speculation about her whereabouts, having not been seen since undergoing a planned abdominal surgery in London - until a paparazzi shot showed her in the car with her mum yesterday.

Gary admits: “It’s difficult to get hold of Kate at the best of times, and she’s got children and I love the fact that she’s putting family first.”

He also said he feels Will and Kate are both the 'the saviour of the royal family'.

Louis then asks another another famous person from the royal family, saying: “I have to ask you, have you met Meghan Markle?”

But it looks like you'll have to tune in later to find out Gary's response...

As he arrived at the house for launch night, Gary, 58, told hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best that he wanted to 'put the record straight', saying people assume he's a 'badboy'.

When asked if his famous niece would be watching from home, he replied: "If she is, it'll be from behind a sofa."

Will almost didn't even make it to the launch event, revealing on social media that he had to be seen by a paramedic just an hour before he was due to present live alongside AJ.

"We are basically one hour away from going live on Celebrity Big Brother 2024," he said.

Will went on to assure fans that he had 'just been given a clean bill of health by a paramedic' before thanking them 'very much'.

He continued: "And... it's a long story but I've got like, yeah, we've got to do stuff any minute.

"I'm supposed to be finished in the makeup chair in about 15 minutes but I haven't got my face on yet!"

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9.00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
