One Day has received rave reviews from critics and fans alike, but not everyone is pleased with the series’ minute details.
The latest adaptation of David Nicholls’ 2009 novel of the same name premiered on Netflix on February 8.
Since then, One Day has been awarded a staggering 93 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes critics' score and an average 4.1 star rating on Letterboxd, leaving viewers 'crying themselves to sleep'.

The show, starring Ambika Mod as Emma Morley and Leo Woodall as Dexter Mayhew, follows two University of Edinburgh graduates who meet at a ball in 1988.
After going their separate ways, Emma and Dexter’s lives remain intertwined over the next 19 years. The pair experience holidays, heartbreak and awkward reunions every St Swithin’s Day.

While many have claimed the show ‘wrecked them emotionally’ others have called out various historical inaccuracies in the set design.
For example, the second episode of One Day sees Emma in the Midlands with a travelling theatre troupe.
Despite the episode being set in 1989, the group can be seen rolling around in a tour van from the mid-90s.
To seemingly rectify the situation, set designers stuck a ‘C’ registration plate on the vehicle to trick viewers into thinking the automobile was from the late 1980s.
A similar blunder takes place in episode eight, which is set in 1995.

The 28-minute offering sees Emma embarking on a short-lived relationship with the headteacher of the school she works at.
However, it’s soon revealed he drives a blue Ford Mondeo MK2 - a car which wasn’t available for purchase until 2000.
Once again, it seems as if set designers attempted to fix the problem by tacking on a ‘J’ registration plate to the car.
This suggests that the transport was made in 1991, but that didn’t stop automobile enthusiasts from clocking onto the mistake.

One Netflix subscriber took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote: “Odd that there are at least two car mistakes in Netflix’s new One Day series…”

A second typed: “More terrible car choices in One Day on Netflix. Dex arrives at his girlfriend’s parents’ house driving a Mercedes SL instead of the E36 M3 everyone of his age with money drove in 1996.”
Others have also called out Emma’s wardrobe for being too modern including a yellow top she wore in the first episode.
Another discrepancy is the wine glasses that both protagonists are drinking from during episode four.

The 27-minute offering is set in 1991 and sees Dexter and Emma taking a trip to the Grecian island of Paros.

While there, the pair enjoy a candle-lit dinner together and Dexter admits that he knows Emma used to have a crush on him.
During the exchange, both protagonists finger large, delicate wine glasses.
But these glasses are not historically accurate as holidaymakers in Greece would have drank their beverages out of thicker, shorter goblets.
But when a hit drama is moving people to tears and being praised to the heavens, we can overlook some of these accidents, right?
