Victoria Beckham has opened up about her tough childhood after being bullied at school, having previously admitted she was never the ‘popular’ girl.
Victoria, 49, has marked Anti-Bullying Week this week with a poignant Instagram post about being ‘kind’ to others.
Posting photos of her smiling with daughter Harper, the fashion designer and mum-of-four shared her own experience of being bullied.

“BE THE KINDEST IN THE CLASSROOM!” she wrote in the caption.
“I’m so proud to raise a strong and caring daughter!
“Growing up I was bullied a lot at school, and I often tell Harper how important it is to be kind and call out if anyone is ever being bullied – especially if there’s ever another little girl on her own in the playground, because that was once her mummy!
“This #AntiBullyingWeek it’s so important to not be silent if someone is alone or being bullied.”
In an accompanying video – an excerpt from an interview she did last month with the National Children’s Bureau, she recalled: “I was bullied a lot. I often talk to Harper about that. I say, ‘You know, if there’s a little girl on her own in the playground, that little girl was Mummy.

“And that hurts.”
Victoria added: “She finds making friends very, very easily. I never did.”
Many people praised her for the post, with one commenting: “this is profound it made me cry. This is beautiful to see this healing from a parent who decides to break the cycle. Millions hugs Victoria to your inner girl who felt lonely all these days.”
Someone else said: “You’re a great woman Victoria. Clearly a great mum too. Sending you huge love.”
A third wrote: “And people constantly bully this beautiful woman online! Stop before you type something. The online bullying is the worst! People think they can say whatever they want. And don’t ever make comments on people’s bodies! Just don’t!”

The star has spoken out about the topic before, having told The Business of Fashion at the BoF VOICES 2022 how she was ‘very badly bullied at school’.
Victoria said she got through the difficult times by keeping her head down and simply ‘working hard’.
"I’ve always had to work really, really hard. Nothing ever came easy to me," she explained.
"When I was in school, I was never the most academic, I was never the pretty girl in class, I was never the popular girl in class … I mean was quite the opposite."
