Singer Paloma Faith has revealed she could quit music to pursue a 9-5 job, following some fairly unexpected career advice from her mum.
The star, whose full name is Paloma Faith Blomfield, has been a household name since the late 2000s, having released her debut single ‘Stone Cold Sober’ in 2009, followed by her first album later that year, titled Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?
Since then, she’s had double platinum records, become a judge on The Voice and also casually raised two kids - two daughters, born in December 2016 and February 2021, respectively - who she shares with ex Leyman Lahcine.

But it turns out there’s someone who reckons she should potentially hang up the microphone after enjoying some solid success, and that’s her mum.
Speaking about her career on Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast, Paloma opened up about her new album, The Glorification of Sadness, and how it addresses her 'trauma' and heartache after splitting from the father of her children.
The star said that, given how they are parents, it’s a ‘different type of heartbreak album’, adding: "Because the heartbreak will be forever and the navigation of our relationship changing shape will be forever, probably till we die.

“You can't really let go of somebody you've got kids with.
"Because you look at your kids and you see that person in your kids. Or they come back from visiting them - your partner/ex-partner - and they're doing their mannerisms or they've got opinions that you don't agree with."
Paloma also revealed she may just be releasing ‘one more’ record after this, amid calls from her mother to switch career.
She explained: “My mum’s always telling me I need to train to be a teacher. She’s like, ‘You’ve had kids, you’ve done the pop star thing.

“Go and do PGCE [teacher training] because then you can have the same holidays as your kids’.
“I’m considering it. I just might put one more record out.”
Paloma said she’s not scared of being let go by her label, adding: “Every time I get towards putting an album out, I think, ‘This is the end’. But now everyone’s independent, so it’s quite cool if you get dropped.”
