Fans are claiming Kim Kardashian made subtle dig at Taylor Swift with Met Gala outfit

Fans are claiming Kim Kardashian made subtle dig at Taylor Swift with Met Gala outfit

It follows speculation that Taylor Swift's new album featured a 'diss track' aimed at the reality star

Met Gala fans reckon Kim Kardashian made a subtle dig at Taylor Swift with her controversial outfit, following deep dives from Swifties into recent song lyrics that they felt were aimed at the SKIMS mogul.

When Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poet’s Department, landed last month, many people were convinced that one of the new songs was a ‘diss track’ aimed at Kardashian.

They spotted that the track 'thanK you aIMee' had an unusual choice of capitalisation in the name, spelling ‘KIM’.

According to the lyrics, it’s about a high-school bully who kicked her down and made her feel low, but ultimately allowed her to rise above and heal.

The lines read: “All that time you were throwin’ punches; I was buildin’ somethin’ / And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel.

“Screamed, ‘F**k you, Aimee’ to the night sky as the blood was gushin’ / But I can’t forget the way you made me heal.”

Of course, none of this went confirmed by either star, but that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill to continue churning out the goss.

In the latest development, people reckon Kardashian’s Met Gala look had an equally subtle dig back at Swift, having noticed a very familiar detail.

“Love the TTPD cardigan, Aimee,” one tweeted.

“Oh I see you got the TTPD cardigan when it dropped!” another said.

“So comfy, right? anyways, stream thanK you aIMee.”

A third wrote: “Kim Kardashian wearing The Tortured Poets Department cardigan at the Met Gala.”

A fourth joked: “@KimKardashian I couldn't get the TTPD cardigan but you seem to have an extra so can I have it.”

Indeed, the new album launched with a range of merch, including a $100 (£80) grey, button-down cable-knit number - naturally, something that sold out pretty quickly.

The singer is also generally synonymous with cardis, with Swift regularly releasing album-themed cardigans.

She’s even got a song called ‘Cardigan’, which was released on her eighth studio album, Folklore.

Kardashian wore a silver John Galliano corset-style dress that cinched her waist - a feature some found 'unhealthy'.

The breathtaking strapless gown featured a metal skirt, embellished with leaves and a lace train.

While many loved her look, some were confused over the addition of the cardi, with some wondering if some sort of wardrobe malfunction had happened.

But Kardashian opened up out about the look on the night - including the knitwear.

Speaking to Vogue, she explained the inspiration behind the outfit was 'the wildest night of my life in a garden'.

"And I just ran out and grabbed my boyfriend’s sweater and threw it on and had to get to work," she said.

"And my hair is all messed up'.
