Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn's husband files for divorce amid 'domestic dispute'

Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn's husband files for divorce amid 'domestic dispute'

The couple tied the knot back in 2019

Millionaire tech giant Christian Richard has filed for divorce from Selling Sunset alum Christine Quinn.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, on Friday (5 April), the entrepreneur - who also goes by Christian Dumontet - cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for their separation and is seeking sole legal and physical custody of their two-year-old son.

The filing follows the March arrest of Richard, 45, who was apprehended on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon following an alleged altercation with Quinn in their Hollywood Hills home.

Police claimed that Richard had thrown a bag containing glass at Quinn but narrowly missed, striking their son, Christian, instead.

35-year-old Quinn then transported her son to hospital.

After posting a $30,000 bond, Richard was released, but arrested again within 24 hours after violating the seven-day restraining order Quinn had in place.

At the time, LAPD confirmed his arrest to People, telling the outlet: "Last night at approximately 11:40pm our Hollywood officers responded to a radio call.

"The suspect was arrested for violation of a restraining order."

Upon his second release, Richard responded by filing a restraining order of his own.

The records stated that Richard requested that Quinn move out of and stay 100 yards from his LA home.

In the filing, Richard claimed that there was never any glass thrown towards anybody and he denied any ‘incidents of domestic violence within the relationship’.

He further asked the judge to restrict Quinn’s travel with their child to LA County, stating that he fears Quinn may ‘abduct’ or kidnap their son.

The filing added Quinn ‘has a history of threatening to take away or hide our children from me’ and ‘not cooperating with me in parenting’.

The arrest came as a shock to many who have been following the couple's marriage.

The divorce filing follows almost four years of marriage.

Quinn and Richard tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in December 2019, which was televised during the second season of Selling Sunset, a Netflix reality series that follows staff of the Oppenheim Group selling real estate in Los Angeles.

Quinn left the Selling Sunset cast in 2022.

Richard is the co-founder of Foodler, an American online food ordering service which sold to GrubHub in 2017 for $51 million.

Following their marriage, Quinn made comments about their bond, saying: "Him and I had an amazing steak dinner and got to know each other, and we just hit it off right away.

“He's everything that I ever wanted. And then [my friend's] like, 'Also, he's looking for a house', and I was like: 'Double bonus'.”

Tyla has contacted representatives for Christine Quinn and Christian Richard for comment.
