Widely-adored singer and viral social media star Cat Janice has tragically passed away following a devastating terminal cancer diagnosis, aged just 31.
The heartbreaking news was broken by her relatives on Instagram, revealing that she'd passed away in her childhood home yesterday (28 February) 'surrounded by her loving family'.
If you've been scrolling through TikTok recently, you may have come across a hoard of celebrities promoting Cat's toe-tapping, self-written disco track 'Dance You Outta My Head' in order to encourage as many users as possible to download it.
What you may not have been aware of is that following the release of her undeniably catchy single - which sky-rocketed to the No. 1 spot in countless countries - she transferred all the rights to her seven-year-old son's name, so he would receive all the proceeds when she passed away.

Last month, Cat told her fans in a TikTok video: "I woke up in the middle of the night to finding out the song is CHARTING Apple ITUNES as now #5 in the WORLD and #1 in multiple countries...
"THANK YOU WORLD FOR LOVING MY SON AND I SO MUCH!!!!"

She said she felt ‘blown away’ by everyone’s love and support, adding: "I really wasn’t expecting to be here. I really do believe it’s a miracle to be able to witness this. I'm just very happy to be here."
The talented American musician was diagnosed with Sarcoma back in 2022, and had been sharing her journey with followers on TikTok ever since.
The mother-of-one discovered a lump in her neck the year prior, but as she’d been getting over Covid at the time - meaning her lymph nodes were ‘really swollen’ - she didn’t think anything of it.
But in one video posted to the video-sharing app, titled ‘My hypochondria saved me’, the rising star revealed how she grew more worried when the lump hadn’t disappeared, and that she later found out the tumour was in her scalene muscle.

Cat went through radiation and chemotherapy to remove the lump in her neck at the time, but sadly the cancer returned in May 2023, showing up in her lungs.
Breaking the news on social media, the star's family revealed that she'd sadly passed away, sharing a beautiful portrait of Cat on Instagram.
"This morning, from her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine peacefully entered the light and love of her heavenly creator," the caption read.

"We are eternally thankful for the outpouring of love that Catherine and our family have received over the past few months. Cat saw her music go places she never expected and rests in the peace of knowing that she will continue to provide for her son through her music.
"This would not have been possible without all of you. Thank you."
