Zoinks! Zac Efron has picked up a role in the new Scooby-Doo movie, and you can probably already guess who he will be playing.

Will Forte will be Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez will play Velma, and Tracy Morgan will be Captain Caveman. Frank Welker will reprise the voice of the beloved dog, Scooby-Doo.

Welker was voice-over for the pooch in the 1969-1970 series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!

The movie comes courtesy of Warner Bros. Animation Group, meaning Scoob will be animated rather than a live-action remake of the children's cartoon.

Zac is one busy man right now, as he's set to take on the main role in another flick centred on notorious murderer Ted Bundy Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will arrive in cinemas and on Netflix late this year.

The Greatest Showman actor will also be appearing in The Beach Bum alongside Matthew McConaughey.

Meanwhile, Amanda's most recent smash hits include Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again - the second movie in the Mamma Mia franchise.

Neither Zac nor Amanda have commented on their new roles in the new Scooby-Doo flick.

Needless to say, we can't wait to see how their make the roles of Daphne and Fred their own.
