Will Smith's Son From Independence Day Is All Grown Up Now And Looking Way Different
It's been nearly twenty years since an alien spacecraft blew up The White House, stunning audiences around the world with the sheer horror and heartache that only such a devastating attack could elicit.
Not really, of course. But we did get to see The White House getting blown to smithereens by aliens in the hit sci-fi adventure Independence Day way back in 1996. It was a pretty awesome movie and Will Smith's first big post-Fresh Prince role which is always exciting.
Unfortunately, Will Smith's character, Captain Steven Hiller isn't going to be appearing in the upcoming sequel Independence Day: Resurgence but his step-son, Dylan Dubrow-Hiller certainly will be making a comeback. But there's a twist in the tale, unlike in the original film, Dylan will be played by Jessie Usher.
And while we're sure Jessie will do an incredible job in moving the character forward, we're also sort of disappointed the the original actor Ross Bagley won't be stepping back into the role. For one thing it sure would be pretty damn interesting to see the same actor take up his role after a twenty year gap.
And in case there are any doubts remaining that Ross might not be grown up enough for a more adult role, let us assure you that he's definitely got the action hero look down just like his on-screen step-dad:
You might also recognise Ross from another collaboration he did with Will Smith as Nicholas 'Nicky' Banks from The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air and as Buckwheat from the hit children's comedy film Little Rascals.
Since then Ross has all but retired from acting but recently reappeared in a poorly received horror movie called Gnome Alone. No, us neither but hey, if he enjoyed doing it then more power to the guy!
Still, even if he's not returning for the new Independence Day film it's good to see that Ross is still doing well!
