Shipwrecked viewers have been left fuming after the reality series returned on Monday with a different format.

Seven years after the show originally aired, Shipwrecked made a comeback, but there were some big changes that upset viewers.

In previous series, contestants have been made to build everything completely from scratch, including the shelter they live in.

However, this year contestants arrived on the island to find that everything had already been prepared for them, which kind of takes the point out of the show, if you ask us.

Many viewers rushed to social media to criticise the programme for being 'too easy' for the contestants.

"I was buzzing for #Shipwrecked but it appears they've got it easy. They didn't get given electric & shelter back in the day," one viewer fumed.

Another added: "This version looks a bit easy #shipwrecked how have they got shelter and showers etc. They had to fight for that shit back in the days."

"They get a hut!? I'm sure they had to build everything in the earlier seasons," a third questioned.

Another fumed: "Used to love watching back in the day.. This lot have got it far too easy... They even have electricity WTF... (probs still gonna be hooked) [sic]."

The brand new series of Shipwrecked will air on week nights on E4 for the next three weeks.
