Tommy Fury Leaves 'Love Island' Viewers Confused When He Says He Wants A Grandino

Fans rushed to Google to find out the meanings of the mysterious word.

We thought we were up to speed on the usual words and phrases used in Love Island - "it is what it is", "on paper", "pied", "melt" and unfortunately this season, "bev" - but last night, boxer Tommy Fury left viewers confused after asking for a Grandino.

The scene showed the group sitting around on the beanbags, and when he asked if his fellow Islanders knew what the word meant, beauty therapist Amber Gill guessed it was the largest size coffee you could get at Starbucks.

Then, gym owner Anton Danyluk got a text informing him of the two new arrivals to the villa, so we never ended up finding out just what a Grandino is. So it was left to us to do as narrator Iain Stirling suggested, and turn to Google to find out.

It turns out a Grandino is a delicious, American-style chocolate cookie, and now we've seen the packaging, it does actually look really familiar. If you're based in the UK, you can buy a packet of Grandinos on Amazon or Lidl.

Just like us, fans took to Google - and then to Twitter - to ponder the meaning of the mysterious Grandino.

One laughed at Amber's mistake, writing: "Grandino is that what you get at Starbucks nah I'm fully done amber you're my favourite", while another wondered: "Grandino? made up word or cookies?" With a confused emoji.

One thing's for sure: we'd much rather have a Grandino than the horror Tommy cooked up for his date last night. After finding out he didn't know how to make peppermint tea, we don't know why we're surprised to see him come up with two slices of bread with cheese, mayo and ketchup.

Last night's episode also had its fair share of drama, with air hostess Amy Hart and ballroom dancer Curtis Pritchard falling out momentarily after he accused her of attention seeking.

The last part of the show also made for entertaining viewing as two new girls, Maura and Elma, entered the villa and chose three boys each to have dinner with, much to the horror of the girls they were already coupled up with. We can't wait for tonight to watch the rest of the dates.

Love Island 2019 continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
