'This Morning' Presenter Alison Hammond Is Nearly Arrested By Italian Police

The TV star had was visiting Pisa to get a shot of the iconic tower for her 'This Morning' travel segment.

Alison Hammond left This Morning viewers in hysterics after she found herself in hot water with Italian police and was nearly arrested while filming near the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The TV star, 44, has been enjoying a European Disney Cruise for the ITV mid-morning stalwart, but had disembarked the luxury cruise liner at Pisa to get a shot of the iconic tower for the daily live link.

But things didn't go quite according to plan as Alison's live broadcast about the show's latest prize was cut short when police stood in front of the shot and told her she couldn't film.

The presenter, who admitted that they didn't have a permit to film by the tourist attraction, attempted to calm tensions as the camera continued to roll, while hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left looking on stunned in the studio.

The cameraman was then ushered away from the area behind a gate as Alison attempted to carry on regardless.

As more police surrounded her, she declared: "I'm going to get arrested!!"

Leaving viewers on a cliff-hanger, Alison later revealed that she and the show's TV crew avoided being handcuffed when they cut back to her in Italy.

However, the Birmingham native was feeling mischievous and tried once again to get a shot of the Italian authorities - but her attempts to be subtle failed miserably and she was forced to run away from them once again.

The hilarity caused fans of the ITV show to take to Twitter to comment on the rib-tickling interaction.

One fan penned: "Just watched this and was crying with laughter. The funniest thing I've seen for a long time. Alison you're hilarious on a legendary scale."
