John Lewis is continuing to build the suspense surround its Christmas advert this year, but This Morning viewers reckon they've sussed it out ahead of its release.

The ITV chat show changed its usual theme tune to a piano cover, and the brand's flagship store on London's Oxford Street is now just called 'John'.

"Slightly different music to start the show," explained Phillip Schofield at the start of the show. "All will become clear later on in the week."

Viewers have been putting two and two together, and now believe that the advert is in some way related to Elton John.

"Omg please let the rumours be true, the piano music theme tune is down to Elton john and a new John Lewis Christmas ad?" tweeted one This Morning viewer.

And somebody else speculated: "All this piano music is 100% to do with Elton John being on the John Lewis Christmas Advert @thismorning."

"John, Elton John? Ooh you tease @jlandpartners," posted another convinced viewer.

While a fourth person questioned: "So the @jlandpartners frontage has been changed to John and @thismorning famous theme tune played in Elton John style piano.. will the big reveal tomorrow finally be this year's advert?!."

John Lewis is remaining tight lipped on its 2018 Christmas ad, although it seems like it is dropping a few hints along the way.

The department store's festive advert is arguably the most highly-anticipated of them all, and they are always guaranteed to be tearjerkers.

This tradition seemed to begin in 2007, back when the adverts themes were much more simpler in their message.

Last year's advert was titled 'Moz The Monster', and hit us right in the festive feels when it aired.

The two-minute advert told the tale of a little kid called Joe, who was kept awake by a 7ft imaginary monster called Moz living under his bed.
