Over a decade ago, Laura Topham wrote in her regular newspaper column, putting out an advert for a new grandma after her own grandparents sadly passed away in her teenage years.
After reading her stories for a while, Maureen Jympson replied to the ad, and became Laura's new gran.
Chatting to Gok Wan and Rochelle Humes on the ITV chat show, the pair discussed their unique bond ever since they met, with Laura explaining that she thinks it's important to be close to someone of a different generation.
Maureen added that she'd first replied to the newspaper advert partly because she had recently lost her husband, as well as thinking that it was a really unique opportunity.
But what does Laura think her own grandparents would make of it all?
"I do think about it quite a bit and I thought, 'Would they mind I've sort of replaced them?'," explained Laura.
"And I worried about my mum. Would she mind? But actually I think more love in your life is always a good thing. No one is going to mind that, and my parents were always thrilled and I'm sure my grandparents are thrilled."
Maureen also got choked up at the end of the interview, telling Gok and Rochelle that she couldn't love Laura more, even if she was her biological granddaughter.
Gok was so moved by the segment, that he even put out a plea for a granddad of his own.
Fans were also touched by Laura and Maureen, and sent Twitter into meltdown after seeing their heartwarming bond.
"Some lovely stories on This Morning today, especially the one about finding another grandma!! What an amazing idea, inspired," gushed one person.
And another tweeted: "This is amazing, the adopted gran has the same nose. They could be related! Lovely story."
"Awwwww I love the idea of this adopting a grandma," shared a third.
This Morning airs on ITV at 10.30am on weekdays.
