Autumn is officially upon us which means Halloween is just around the corner and we're ready to get our scare on.

Lucky for us, Netflix is stepping up its horror film game just in time for Halloween, by adding Stephen King's The Shining to its library.

The Netflix and Chills line-up will include some classic scares, along with some super spooky new additions that are bound to raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

No Halloween movie marathon would be complete without a viewing of a scary Stephen King classic like The Shining.

Anyone who's seen the hair-raising classic will know the two words guaranteed to send chills down your spine, as the creepy Jack Nicholson yells "HERE'S JONNY!"

As well as all the classic movies, Netflix subscribers can also look forward to a host of original spooky series joining the online stream giant.

Scaring season will kick off with Creeped Out, a kid-orientated anthology show of freaky stories, which will drop on 4th October.

The synopsis reads: "A modern-day Are You Afraid of the Dark meets Black Mirror kids anthology series that depicts creepy tales and ends with a lesson. The series is linked together by a masked 'story collector' called The Curious who appears in each episode."

Following that will be Malevolent (5th October), which follows the lives of brother and sister Angela and Jackson who "prey on the grief stricken and vulnerable" by convincing them that Angela has the ability to contact the dead.

The 12th October will see the release of Apostle, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell and The Haunting of Hill House, based on Shirley Jackson's iconic novel.

Haunted will drop on 19th October, giving "a chilling glimpse into the first-person accounts from people who have witnessed horrifying, peculiar, extraordinary, supernatural events and other unexplained phenomenons that continue to haunt them."

Castlevania season two and the long-awaited Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will hit Netflix on 26th October, so we're in for a long, spooky month.
