It's the news all Disney fans have been waiting for, the official release date for Frozen 2 has been confirmed as 22nd November 2019.

We know it sounds like a long way away, but seen as though we have already waited since 2013 one more year won't hurt.

Plus, just think of all those poor parents who have only just stopped Let It Go from ringing in their ears.

After the first film's release adults and children all over the world became obsessed with Olaf's witty comments and couldn't get enough of singing Love Is An Open Door during all their festive car journeys and they can't wait to do it all over again.

The sequel was originally meant to be released on the 27th November, 2019, however according to Collider it has been moved forward five days to fall on Thanksgiving weekend in America.

That means it will be released just in time for the Christmas season, making the sequel perfect festive viewing.

Frozen made upwards of $1.3 billion worldwide in 2013 and the sequel is expected to top this.

Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad will be returning as Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, but not much has been mentioned about Jonathan Groff, who voiced Kristoff returning.

Westworld's Evan Rachel Wood and This Is Us star, Sterling K. Brown, are reportedly in talks to join the sequel, which means we could be treated to a few new characters.

Frozen's co-writers and co-directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck also return to write and lead the sequel so hopefully it will be just as magical.

Fans of the film haven't been left to go cold turkey since 2013 though as the film was adapted in the 2015 animated short sequel Frozen Fever and there was a 2017 animated featurette Olaf's Frozen Adventure, and a Broadway musical that opened earlier this year.

Speaking in July last year, Jonathan Groff spoke about the sequel. He said: "I think I just got an email yesterday where I'm about to go into the recording studio in a couple of weeks, or maybe a month?

"They're about to really get into the thick of recording it, which I'm excited about. I don't know anything about it yet other than I'm about to start recording my section of it."I'm just excited that I'm in it, you know?

"Excited to be in it and that creative team is also just so amazing, so I'm excited to get back in a room with them and play around.... The four of them are such an awesome team and I really, really love them."
