Yep, it might be a bit of a mouthful, but people are already talking about mistaking the film for a Downton Abbey reunion so chances are if you like the series, you're going to love the film.

It's no surprise given that the two production companies share a number of main cast members including Mamma Mia 2 star, Lily James.

Lily is the main character in the new film, however she was relatively unknown when she first joined the cast of Downton Abbey back in 2012.

But after her role as Lady Rose McClare, Lily went on to star in Cinderella, Pride and Prejudice and Zomies, Baby Driver and of course Mamma Mia 2.

In The Guernsey - as people have shortened it - Lily plays WWII era writer Juliet Ashton.

Jessica Brown Findlay also shot to fame through her role as Lady Sybil Crawley in Downton Abbey and now she will share the screen with Lily James once again during her role as Elizabeth McKenna, a finding member of the Nazi-resisting society.

Next to join the Guernsey reunion is Penelope Wilton who portrayed Isobel Crawley during every single episode of Downton Abbey, making her one of the most constant characters in the programme'sconstantly changing cast.

Last, but not least is Matthew Goode who appeared in just seven episodes in the series during his role as Henry Talbot. Matthew plays Juliet's publisher, Sidney Stark in Guernsey.
