The First Trailer For Clownado Just Dropped And It's Horrifying

We're not entirely sure what the film is all about but clowns and tornadoes are enough to give us chills.

For years, clowns have been the source of many grizzly nightmares, sleepless nights and terrifying phobias for millions of children and adults.

But, seemingly the clown terror doesn't end there as the first trailer for Clownado just dropped, and it contains some lovely flesh-eating clowns somehow merged with a tornado. Yup, it's a clown-lover's dream.

We say 'somehow' merged with a tornado because despite watching the quite-frankly horrible trailer several times, we're still not entirely sure what it's all about.

Either way, the concept of both clowns and tornados makes for equally interesting and terrifying viewing.

There is also a short clip of what looks a bit like a stormy tornado at the start of the trailer... before all the flesh-eating clowns get involved.

We're sensing a bit of de-ja-vu here... remember when people said Sharknado was a ridiculous film, and while it turned out they were right, a whole series of shark films ensued; Sharknado 2: The Second One, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!,Sharknado: The 4th Awakens, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming and The Last Sharknado: It's About Time... so we reckon there's probably a market ready for Clownado.

Well, the clown-themed horror actually only exists because people shelled out their own money to fund it, with the makers surpassing their $15,000 goal on Indiegogo, according to Bloody Disgusting.

The film is directed by Todd Sheets, who shared his werewolf horror, Bonehill Road, with the world last month, and seeing as though the trailer for Clownado is quite hard to make head or tail of, we could do with hearing him explain what it's all about.

He said: "The goal with Clownado was to make a damned good, scary and splatter-filled, nonstop roller coaster ride. It's something new, fresh, original and unique but also familiar.

"Using only practical special makeup effects and old school styled visual effects, Clownado has the vibe of classic horror movies we love. Think Evil Dead, Dead Alive, Bad Taste and Texas Chainsaw Massacre if Lucio Fulci was directing, all mixed in a swirling storm of insanity."

It's not known yet when the film will be released but we'll be keeping our eyes peeled, even if it's just so we can avoid it.
