It looks like Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans can finally get excited about season six because it's officially on its way. Well, if we take Terry Crews' word for it anyway.

The actor, who plays Sergeant Terry Jeffords in the series, went live on Instagram, where he revealed the news we've all been waiting for - that season six would be landing in January 2019.

Fans are no doubt more excited for the upcoming series after it was revealed the crime series was nearly scrapped, leaving viewers devastated.

As they say though, all good things must come to an end, and this series fans will lose a pretty pivotal character from the drama so we'd recommend everyone gets stocked up on tissues just in time.

Chelsea Perretti, who plays Gina Linetti in the hit drama, took to Twitter earlier this month to tell fans she won't be doing the full season, however she did tease viewers by explaining "that doesn't mean I won't ever be back."

She continued: "I want to thank you for the hours you spent watching Gina be Gina:

"Confident, idiotic-but-smart, pithy, and infused with rhythm and call-phone radiation. It is hard for me to know exactly what to sat.

"Perhaps Emmy Rossum said it best when she wrote about Shameless."

While many fans will breath a sigh of relief that she's not gone forever, many would agree that the series six is likely to be very different without her.
