Last night's episode of Love Island was seriously entertaining: both the boys and girls had to take part in a dancing competition to see who raised each other's heart rates the most.

But while most of the contestants came out in revealing, sexy attire, such as nurses, cats or superheroes, professional ballroom dancer Curtis Pritchard, 23, came out in a skimpy purple pair of shorts and a feathery headdress, immediately prompting comparisons to Madagascar's King Julien.

Islanders and fans couldn't believe their eyes, not just at Curtis's outfit, but at the confidence in which he gyrated towards the girls and then gave them each individual lap dances, even licking Anna Vakili, 29, and picking up love interest Maura Higgins, 28, and twirling her around.

Maura in particular was left seriously hot and bothered, saying: "Holy Mary mother of God, I'd say my heart was racing without a doubt. I'm not going to brag about it but he definitely went full on with me and sorry Francesca, but it looks like you're out".

Fans were quick to tweet about Curtis's memorable performance. One wrote: "I mean this is the kind of tv I was waiting for", while others compared him to Buzz Lightyear in Spanish mode.

However, the most common theme in tweets about Curtis last night was his uncanny resemblance to lemur King Julien from the animated film Madagascar.

One fan asked: "Is Curtis actually King Julian. Resemblance is uncanny", while another said: "Can't cope with Curtis dancing like king Julien highlight of the night".

The character loves to dance, much like his doppelgänger Curtis, so when we saw the professional ballroom dancer in all his finery, we couldn't help but be reminded of the lemur showing off his best moves.

BRB, just going to rewatch All Hail King Julien and Madagascar for the millionth time...
