'Orange Is The New Black' Series 7 Features A 'Love Island' Crossover And Fans Are In Shock

Bet you didn't expect to see Adam Collard and Dr Alex appear in the Netflix original because we didn't.

Who would of thought that prison and Love Island's Adam Collard's snakey ways would go hand-in-hand? Not us, that's for sure.

Yet, fans of Orange Is The New Black were left pleasantly surprised when the Netflix original and the ITV2 reality show crossed over in several episodes of the final season of OITNB, which was released on Friday, 26th July.

In one scene, Natalie Figueroa (played by Alysia Reiner) is seen sprawled across her couch as she watches series four of the dating show, which aired in 2018 and featured the iconic showdown between Rosie Williams and gym owner Adam.

Entering the living room, Fig tells her partner Joe Caputo (played by Nick Sandow): "Niall [Aslam] is c*ck-blocking Adam [Collard] from stealing Kendall's [Rae-Knight] p*ssy away."

To which Caputo responds: "Why are we watching a bunch of Brexit voters in bikinis?"

Hooked on the reality series like most of the UK and Ireland, the couple are caught watching Love Island again in the sixth episode after Caputo returns home from work.

Caputo says: "I did get you a gift at the market".

Fig responds to him before commenting again about Love Island: "It better not be another succulent, two can hate each other and still live.

"If I have learned anything from Love Island, it's that three will tear each other apart."

While continuing their conversation, Fig suddenly gets distracted by the girls in the villa after they admit none of them are not interested in Dr Alex George, who many will remember was unlucky in love in 2018's instalment.

Taking aback by the admission, Fig cuts across Caputo and says: "Oh my God, why are none of these women going for the doctor?"

The scenes didn't go amiss with Love Island and OITNB fans, who took to Twitter to share their delight over the surprise crossover.

One viewer penned: "Wonder if Adam Collard knows he's featured in Season 7 of Orange Is The New Black? Didn't realise they were fans of Love Island."

"Can't believe they're watching Love Island in the new season of Orange Is The New Black," another shared.

A third wrote: "Was it just me that found it more amusing than it was to see the 2018 Love Island cast on Orange Is The New Black".

Die-hard Netflix fans will remember that the first two season of Love Island were available on the streaming service before they were removed on Tuesday, 30th April, so perhaps that's how the pair got hooked initially? We can't blame them.
