One Of The Original Friends Stars Isn't Reuniting With His Former Castmates For The Special Programme
The internet set itself aflame a few days ago after various headlines proclaimed a 'Two Hour Friends Special Episode' was on the way.
And as fans whipped themselves into a frenzy over the misleading rumours, it soon became apparent that the special wouldn't be an 'episode' of Friends as much as a clip show dedicated to TV legend and Friends director, James Burrows, featuring interviews with the cast.
But the much-talked-about 'reunion' won't be happening as planned, as Matthew Perry who played Chandler Bing, won't be able to make it according to his representative:
Matthew will not be attending as he is in London in rehearsals for his play, 'The End of Longing,' which begins previews on Feb. 2 at the Playhouse Theatre. NBC executives were aware of this prior to their TCA announcement yesterday. Matthew may tape something for the tribute. In other words, this is not the reunion people have been hoping for.
Of course, NBC's chairman of entertainment already cast doubt on whether he'd be able to get the whole cast together when the announcement was first made:
I'm hoping all six of them will be all in the same room at the same time, but I'm not sure if we can logistically pull that off.
Still, even if the show won't be the reunion that many of us had hoped for, there's probably still going to be a lot of cool insights and behind-the-scenes information to sink our teeth into.
