If you're a fan of Lucifer, Tom Ellis or wet, shirtless men in general you need to see the new trailer for the upcoming series of the hit Netflix show.

The streaming giant shared the clip of Tom, who plays Lucifer Morningstar, looking devilishly good as he emerges from a swimming pool, shirtless with a glass of whisky in hand.

Shooting the camera a knowing glance, Tom grins and sips on his drink as guitar music plays in the background.

The camera then pans down to his torso to reveal his '666' tattoo.

The streaming platform captioned the video: "@LuciferNetflix Season 4 hits Netflix in 666 hours!"

Excited fans of the series took to Twitter and retweeted the video over 3.5k times and liked it over 11k times in less than one day.

One tweeted in response: "In need of resurrection. #Lucifer will be the death of me."

Another commented: "I'm getting paid a lot of money for doing my job, which I'm patently NOT doing right now. Can I say the Devil made me do it?"

A third confessed: "I can't stop watching I really can't help me please!"

Tom, who shot to fame on Miranda, previously spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming series saying: "I'll say this is without a doubt our strongest season that we've done, for many reasons.

"A lot of it has to do with where we left our story and how we pick it up, and what we deal with this season is stuff we've never really dealt with before.

"There was always this conceit that no one believes Lucifer is the devil. But now that is common knowledge amongst some of our major characters."

The show was cancelled by Fox last year only to be picked up by Netflix.

If you need to catch up here's the gist of the show courtesy of Netflix: "Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals."

Tom recently became engaged to American screenwriter Meaghan Oppenheimer, and the happy couple have been sharing pictures from inside their lavish wedding shower.

The loved-up snaps seemingly prompted Tom's ex-wife, actress Tamzin Outhwaite, to declare she is 'surrounding herself with positivity'.

Tamzin shared the quote: 'The future, the worry, the regret, the anxiety - these are all mental events that do not have to be part of the difficulty of life. These can be transcended here and now.'

Lucifer season 4 is expected to have of 10 episodes and will drop on Netflix on Wednesday, May 8th 2019.
