Netflix has released the trailer for its new sci-fi horror The I-sland and it honestly looks right up our street.

The I-sland, a seven-part series, centres on a group of people who mysteriously regain consciousness on a remote island and fight to make it home.

The streaming service's latest offering looks like a crazy mashup between hit sci-fi series Lost and Danny Boyle's The Beach with strokes of the Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson-starring 2005 sci-fi, The Island, too.

However, the trailer at least is clearly a parody of Fyre Festival, the fraudulent luxury music festival founded by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule, that turned into disaster when guests arrived to mushy sandwiches and a half-built festival site instead of Michelin-starred catering and luxury camping.

Scenes begin with stunning women frolicking on a beach and jumping into the sea from a yacht, just as McFarland's supermodels and influencers did in promotional footage for the doomed festival.

Text reads 'Welcome to the I-Land' in the same typeface as 'Welcome to Fyre Festival' read over an aerial shot of the turquoise blue sea, as shots beautiful woman lounging on the beach, stunning waterfalls, DJ sets, and swimming pigs mimic the promo video.

However, hedonism soon turns to horror as things turn dark for the island's revellers - dead bodies, severed fingers, sharks and (actual) fires included.

"Once you arrive, you'll never leave, everyone is invited, for a reason," reads ominous text over the footage, as the trailer ends on a Big Brother-style control room, with secret cameras filming the island.

An official synopsis for the series reads: "When ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home.

"They soon discover this world is not as it seems. Faced with the I-Land's extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves - or die as their worst ones."

The scary flick stars Kate Bosworth, Natalie Martinez, and Alex Pettyfer, and will land on Netflix on September 12th.

Can't wait.
