'Love Island' Releases First Teasers For This Year's Series

ITV has shared a series of Love Island teasers as fans eagerly await news of an air date.

Filming for Love Island officially kicked off in April, and since then, fans have been clinging onto every cryptic clue that hints to when the show will air this summer.

Now, ITV has released a series of cryptic promo videos that seem to tease the fifth season of the show. The videos come with the hashtag "Day Dot is coming", a reference to a quote from the show.

One of the teasers features the words "I'm not your hun, hun" against a sandy beach - fans will remember Eyal Booker shouted this at Hayley Hughes during an argument in 2018's fourth season.

Another shows a piece of white paper with "my type" written on it, a clear reference "my type on paper", which is arguably one of the most famous Love Island catchphrases.

"Putting all my eggs in one basket" is another phrase that's popular on the show, and it's referenced in a clip that shows a basket full of eggs on artificial grass.

In a more direct reference, one clip features the quote "Do you want me to rap, anyone? Life the mood a bit?" by 2017's Marcus Somerville.

Another shows a pair of trunks floating in a pool with the words "The DBS" on them, a reference to the "Do Bits Society" formed by Wes Nelson, Jack Fowler and Josh Denzel last year.

Love Island has recently come into controversy for the deaths of former contestants Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon, but it appears as if the show will air as normal.
