Love Island fans watched as Amber Gill confessed that she's the "happiest" she's been in the villa since coupling up with Greg O'Shea during their romantic final date on a yacht catamaran on Thursday night.

And her admission was music to fans' ears after they watched the beautician endure a toxic relationship with former Islander Michael Griffiths, who was accused of gaslighting her on numerous occasions.

It was plain to see the difference in the Geordie, 21, since Irish rugby player Greg entered the villa as she couldn't contain her delight heading off on their final date of the series.

Proving how much misery Michael caused her, a now beaming Amber admitted that getting out of that unhealthy situation has allowed her to fall for Greg.

She reflected: "Everything I went through in the villa with Michael, I was right misery, I thought, 'I may as well go because I'm not going to find anyone'.

"And then you came in and I don't know what the hell happened, something obviously changed in my mind and I had such a good time on the date, and I wasn't expecting that to happen with anyone."

To which Greg asked: "Had you lost hope?"

"A hundred per cent. I was moping around, I was like, 'I'm not going to find anyone here' and everyone has said since you've come in, I've had a smile on my face," Amber answered before adding, "This is the happiest I've been since I've been here".

And viewers have noticed the difference in Amber, who weeks ago was left defeated after Michael returned to the villa recoupled with Joanna Chimonides and continued to play on her emotions.

One viewer penned: "Can't deal with how much Greg worships Amber she literally fell in the sh*t with Michael and came out smelling of roses with Greg".

Another penned: "dk how I did it. But I literally said "I hope amber tells Greg what Michael said Bc that's what I would have done" and Boom she DID. That right there is what started what we are seeing. It shows that amber is completely is with Greg. It is trust building 101."

This is the Amber we've been longing to see - keep on shining girl!

Love Island continues on ITV2 tonight at 9pm.
