He's also revealed the reason why he was so red in the villa.

While the rest of this year's Love Island stars turned into sun kissed gods and goddesses, Doctor Alex a little bit like a lobster, and was ridiculed by the public for his lack of a tan.

He was also criticised for allowing himself to get sunburn as a trained medic, as it's no secret that it massively heightens your risk of skin cancer.

But now the doctor has hit back, actually revealing that he suffers from a condition that causes his skin to be much more sensitive to sunlight, reminding people that he was actually slathering on the SPF 50+ while in the villa.

Speaking to Sky News, Alex said: "There have been a lot of jokes about it, but I do take sunburn very seriously.

"I have a skin condition unfortunately and take medication, which makes my skin sensitive to the sun.

"So even though I had been lathering up with factor 50 I did come up a bit pink."

He also claimed that the Love Island cameras made him look much more sunburned than he did in real life - something that was echoed by his ex-gal Alexandra Cane's mama when she entered the villa during the Meet the Parents episode.

Alex reminded his fans: "It is so important to protect yourself in the sun, it's just unfortunate my skin condition means I did burn a bit. A lot of it was in the cameras."

The doctor was one of the original Islanders to enter the villa on day one, and while he almost made it to the very end, Alex didn't come back to the UK with a gal.

It looks like his career in medicine could be kick started again though, as Alex has already revealed his hopes to be a television doctor while starring on This Morning alongside his new agent.
