Little Mix have confirmed they are on the hunt for the next big music group to take the world by storm.

Rivalling The X Factor - the show they were born on - Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall have launched their own competition on the BBC, called The Search.

The TV show, which is set to air in 2020, will see singers audition for a chance to be crowned the next best super group.

Fully formed groups can apply, but the girls are also keen to recruit solo artists who they will then place in a brand new group: either a boy band, a girl band or mixed.

Each group will have access to vocal coaches, songwriters, producers and stylists, just like the girls did on The X Factor.

This means that contestants will get a shot at following the same career path as Little Mix, who were thrown together as a fivesome by Simon Cowell.

They'll also be mentored by none other than Little Mix themselves.

Oh, and the prize? A chance to support Little Mix themselves in front of thousands on their tour next year.

The series, which is only seven episodes long is set to air on Saturday nights on BBC One next year, though the exact start date is yet to be confirmed.

"We want to create lots of incredible groups who really gel," Little Mix said.

"As we have been there and done it ourselves, we know what it takes to make a group successful and will be there to mentor them every step of the way.

"We want solo artists to audition as well as groups, and every type of genre is welcome, too. It's going to be really exciting, and people can apply right now!"

BBC executive Charlotte Moore said: "One of Britain's most popular all-female bands Little Mix will bring their magic to BBC One on Saturday nights in 2020 in a brand new show set to inspire the next generation of young artists."

Sound like a bit of you? Well, you'd better get a move on as they're recruiting right now.
