Line of Duty season 6 has suspended production amid coronavirus fears, the show has announced.
World Productions, the production company behind the BBC cop drama, has decided to halt production on the upcoming season 6 in light of Covid-19.

Confirming the news on Twitter, it wrote: "In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, @worldprods are suspending filming of #LineofDuty S6 with the support of the BBC."
They added: "We will keep you updated with further developments in due course. Thank you."
While there was no official date about when the sixth instalment would be airing, show runner Jed Mercurio told Radio Times in October that he was aiming to have series six air "sometime in 2020" - a date that is now likely to be pushed back.

Jed told the publication: "I would hope it's sometime in 2020, next year. But that's not something that we're able to confirm."
Series 6 is expected to continue to follow AC-12 as they try to discover the identity of 'H', who viewers discovered to be a corrupt quartet at the end of series 5.
Peaky Blinders season 6 has also been postponed.

The gangster drama confirmed the news on the show's official Instagram, with the post reading: "After much consideration, and in light of the developing situation concerning Covid-19, the start of production of Peaky Blinders series 6 has been postponed.
"Huge thanks to our incredible cast and crew, and to all our amazing fans for their continued support."
World Productions follows a number of TV studios taking precautionary measures due to the pandemic.

This includes Netflix who is reportedly shutting down production on its TV shows and movies for two weeks.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the streaming platform has halted all production on its originals amid concerns for the virus.
The streamer told the outlet the measure was being taken "due to government restrictions and health/safety precautions."

Among the shows impacted is Stranger Things, which is bad news for fans as it could see the release date for season 4 pushed back to next year.
Additionally, Warner Bros announced it was suspending work on more than 70 TV shows which are either completely seasons or shooting pilots last week.
While Disney has also been making changes in light of the virus, announcing it was postponing the release of three of its upcoming titles as an "abundance of caution" in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
