Just when we were in dire need of a new mystery thriller to dig our teeth into, Facebook's new streaming service has come through with a stellar offering - and it honestly looks so, so good.

Facebook Watch is preparing to premiere Limetown, a new drama based on the 2015 hit podcast of the same name.

The series follows American Public Radio (APR) journalist Lia Haddock (played by Jessica Biel), who investigates the mystery of 326 disappearing without a trace at Limetown, a neuroscience research facility in Tennessee.

Going off the first trailer released last week, The Sinner actress puts on a spine-tingling performance as her character tries to unveil the truth despite the sinister forces clearly against her.

TBH, after Biel's performance in The Sinner - the 2017 crime mystery that won her critical acclaim - we're sold.

It's even got a lot of the same plot themes (the mystery at the heart of the story which is slowly picked away at) so its a surefire winner for anyone who binged and loved it.

In October 2018 it was announced Facebook Watch had ordered the 10-episode adaptation of Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie's podcast.

Other cast include Stanley Tucci (Devil Wears Prada), Marlee Matlin (Some Kind Of Beautiful), Kelly Jenrette (Jinn), John Beasley (Walking Tall) and Louis Ferreira (Dawn Of The Dead).

With the strap-line "People vanish, the truth doesn't," its set up to be an excellent watch for those who don't like predictability.
