James Corden Tells 'Gavin & Stacey' Cast That He's Considering A Fourth Season

Gavin & Stacey star Oscar Hartland has revealed James Corden will give the fans what they want by creating a fourth season of the popular show - but only if there's a demand for it among viewers.

The news comes after the overwhelming success of the Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special which saw over 11 million people tuning in on Christmas Day to catch up with the well-loved characters 10 years on.

It seems the one-off episode could have sparked the possibility of another season after Oscar - who played Neil the baby - explained he had been quizzing James, 41, when they were reunited on set.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain today, the 10-year-old explained: "I did ask James in the process of filming, but he said 'it's just what the people want'.

"He said he doesn't want people to be like 'Oh no, it's Gavin & Stacey on again'."

It seems Oscar has put a lot of thought into how the fourth season would play out, revealing: "I would like them to make a series four so much. I would like Smithy to say yes and for the last episode to be their wedding!"

At the end of the Christmas special, Ruth Jones' character, Nessa, got down on one knee and proposed to James Corden's Smithy, leaving fans with one of the biggest TV cliffhangers of all time.

And it seems the 10-year-old isn't the only one who wants to see a Gavin & Stacey wedding, either.

In response, viewers even started a #sayyes hashtag and demanded a fourth series to watch the couple tie the knot.

While we wait with bated breath for any official updates, even Ruth Jones has revealed there "is room for [the show] to move on".

She said: "Honestly, hand on heart at the moment there is no plan, there have been no post it notes, there's been no sitting in a room mapping out another episode.

"But I think obviously there is room for it to move on. All I'm going to say now is: who knows."

The Christmas special was watched by an average of 11.6 million viewers, achieving the highest Christmas ratings in over 10 years.

If that isn't a sign of what the public want, we don't know what is - James, take note!
