It looks like iCarly will live to see many more vlogs. After going off the air in 2012, the Nickelodeon sitcom will be making a comeback, with its original cast, for a brand new series.

Original stars Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress will return for the revival which will air on the ViacomCBS streaming platform Paramount+.

Produced by Nickelodeon Studios, Jay Kogen (The Simpsons, School of Rock) and Ali Schouten (Champions, Merry Happy Whatever) will develop and produce the new iteration of the show, which has already received a series order.

iCarly premiered in 2007 and became a huge hit for Nickelodeon. Miranda starred as Carly Shay, a regular teen who happens to host and star in a popular web series alongside her BBFs Freddie (Nathan Kress) and Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and her older brother Spencer (Jerry Trainor).

Jennette McCurdy does not appear to be a part of the revived series. After after iCarly initally concluded in 2012, Jennette teamed up with Ariana Grande to star in Sam & Cat, a spin-off series featuring Jenette's character Sam, and Cat, played by Ariana Grande in Victorious. Sam & Cat ended in 2014 after 35 episodes.

In the years since iCarly aired, YouTubers, vloggers and Tik Tokers have became a major part of popular culture, both online and IRL, so it will be interesting to see how an adult Carly Shay navigates all the new challenges... and competition.

Following iCarly's conclusion, Miranda went on to study psychology at USC and she now hosts the CBS show Mission Unstoppable with Miranda Cosgrove. There have been a few iCarly reunions over the last couple of years, including one in 2015 for Nathan's wedding.

iCarly fans may also remember a Nickelodeon pilot called Gibby, named after the character played by Noah Munck, which was developed as another spin-off from the main show. Unfortunately, Gibby did not receive a series order.

Dan Schneider, the creator of several Nickelodeon classics including iCarly, Sam & Cat Victorious, is not involved with the iCarly revival. Nickelodeon severed ties with the producer following misconduct allegations in 2018.

There is no projected premiere date for the iCarly revival at the moment - but stay tuned for more info!
