It was the smash hit TV series that kept noughties teens enthralled, and now Hilary Duff has revealed that a revival of Lizzie McGuirecould actually be happening.

Hilary, who played Lizzie McGuire, made the exciting revelation yesterday during a chat with Entertainment Tonight and it's got us feeling all kinds of nostalgic.

When asked about the possibility of a revival, she said: "There's been some conversations...It's definitely not a go. I don't want to get everyone wild talking about it."

It's definitely too late for that, Hilary.

While it's not clear whether a reboot will go ahead or not, it seems like Hilary is definitely up for it, and we reckon her fans will think exactly the same.

"I mean I love her so much," she said. "I think she was so important to girls at an important time in their life. If she could be important to them again at this age, I think that would be amazing."

If the reboot were to go ahead, it's likely that it would follow the life of a grown-up Lizzie, 15 years after we watched her crazy graduation trip to Rome, where she fell in love with Italian musician Paolo and impersonated his duet partner, who coincidentally looked just like her.

After performing in front of thousands of people, Lizzie exposed Paolo for all his twisted lies and shortly afterwards she became an online sensation... but what else would you expect from a trip to Rome?

Lizzy McGuire first launched on the Disney Channel in January 2001, airing an impressive 65 episodes across two series.

It's hard to believe the iconic series ended in February 2004, but we're more than ready to find out what Lizzie has been up to for the last 15 years.
