Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham are set to star in a new TV drama on Channel 4, it has been revealed.

The show, named Help, will delve into how the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has impacted a fictional Liverpool nursing home.

A two-hour special, which has been penned by His Dark Materials writer Jack Thorne, will see Jodie play a care worker named Sarah, whose self esteem is on the floor after being told she'll never be successful.

Meanwhile, Line Of Duty favourite Stephen plays Tony, a resident in the home suffering with Young Onset Alzheimer's.

The series will follow the bond between the pair, which stems after Sarah realises Tony likes her more than the other carers.

Speaking on his involvement in the series, Stephen Graham said in a statement: "Jack is one of the greatest and most truthful writers of our generation and in Help, he has crafted a profoundly important piece of social realism.

"I've wanted to work with Jodie for ages, and together we're hugely passionate about shining a light on one of the biggest tragedies of our time and the people at the heart of it."

Meanwhile, Killing Eve star Jodie added that she was "thrilled to be working alongside Stephen" in the hit, adding that it was a "real honour" to bring the "relevant and emotive" story to TV screens.

"For us to be able to explore such a relevant and emotive story through the eyes of such beautifully real characters..." the Villanelle actor began.

"We're determined to do justice to so many of the untold stories and heroes that have been affected as a result of this crisis and to handle them with care."
